The “Holy Grail” for Beach Boys fans came to fruition in The SMiLE Sessions, a 5 CD-plus-vinyl box featuring the recently completed, notoriously unreleased album plus alternate takes and fly-on-the-wall session highlights galore…

The Rolling Stones gave their 1978 classic Some Girls an expanded look, issuing a 2 disc Deluxe Edition adding 12 unreleased tracks from those sessions, and a Super Deluxe Edition adding a book, vinyl and a live DVD to the proceedings…

U2‘s Achtung Baby got similar Deluxe and Super Deluxe Edition treatment, but upped the ante with an additional Uber Deluxe Edition totalling 6 CDs and 4 DVDs of content, and a personal appearance by Bono in your living room!  Well, not that last part, but for the price it should’ve been an option…

The Who‘s other classic rock opera Quadrophenia expanded to 4 CDs, including rough demos, a DVD with a surround sound mix, and the now-obligatory hardcover book in its’ own Director’s Cut: Super Deluxe Edition…
