Pope Francis has delivered a Christmas greeting at the Vatican, but it wasn’t the warmest or most cheerful speech.

FOX News Radio’s Simon Owen in our European bureau has the story.

The Pope giving his annual Christmas address to the Curia — the group of cardinals, bishops and priests who run the Vatican. But, this was no joyful holiday greeting.

Instead, Pope Francis cataloging 15 sins of the Vatican, saying it’s riven with social exhibitionism, spiritual Alzheimer’s and a lust for power. Also, warning against greed and egoism, and saying he hopes the church can atone.

At the end of the speech–applause, but not many smiles in the audience.
