Sen. McCain Returns, Calls for Bipartisan Cooperation on Health Care

With a tie-breaking vote from Vice President Pence, Republican Senators move forward on health care debate.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

One of the deciding votes to begin debate on a health care overhaul came from Arizona Republican John McCain, who unexpectedly announced he’d return to the Senate a week after being diagnosed with brain cancer. Still, he offered a strong warning to Republican leaders:

(McCain) “I will not vote for this bill as it is today. It’s a shell of a bill, right now, we all know that.”

The 51-50 vote sets up 20 hours of debate on amendments and competing repeal and replace proposals, possibly setting up a final vote later this week.
